Northrend Here I Come!

I had a mammoth levelling session yesterday and levelled Nithu from 68 to 71!  I dinged 70 in Blades Edge and headed straight for Ebon Hold to train and then took a ship to the Borean Tundra.  Whilst the arrival isn’t as majestic as Howling Fjord it’s still a pretty nice zone and not particularly crowded having missed the initial rush.  It is a skinner’s paradise but herbs seem pretty thin on the ground.  I’m not sure if this is because so many people are gathering the  new herbs or whether there just aren’t many herbs here.  Fow now my plan is to level Nithu and Hulan.  Nithu can supply Hulan with herbs (if she ever finds any!) and she can supply Ravenwynd with leather so she can get on with her leatherworking and, hopefully, herbs for her inscription.  Hulan can get on level her tailoring, hopefully there will be cloth coming in from both characters.   For now I’m holding back on ditching Winifred’s tailoring and Elen’s leatherworking, I don’t want to find that come the next patch there are different strands of tailoring and leatherworking, as there are now.

Nithu is pretty much kitted out in new armour.  A guildmate had sent her 3 cobalt pieces and she has a load of new stuff from quests.  I really like the style of the new armour.  I never liked the fancy, garish armour that is so prevalent in WoW much and in tBC it seemed to get really over the top.  A lot of the weapons and armour that I’ve seen in WotLK seems much more plain and the colours are more muted, more in keeping with my own personal taste.  It puts me in mind a little of the armour style in LotRO which I loved.  Nithu is keeping 2 sets of armour, a DPS set for grinding and a tanking set.  I’ve also re-spec’d her to a Frost build and have gone mostly for the tanking talents.  I haven’t had a chance to do any real tanking with her yet but I’m prepared!  I haven’t done much grinding/levelling yet with the new spec, what little I did the decrease in damage was noticeable however hopefully it won’t be as gimped as levelling a prot warrior used to be.
