It’s been a while since I updated here. I was feeling very jaded with WoW and not playing nearly as much plus I had rather a lot going on IRL which rather distracted me. The pre-expansion patch re-ignited my enthusiasm for my warrior and I’m amazed to have levelled my warrior, who has been languishing at lvl 64 for over a year, to 70. She had a whole day to run quests for cash before the expansion came out! Out of all the classes I’ve tried I found the warrior the hardest going, possibly because she was always some sort of weird hybrid. I originally rolled her just to have a little play with a warrior; she made it to level 14 before being demoted to a bank mule and stayed that way for a long time. Several months before tBC was released there was a free server migration and myself and 4 friends decided to transfer our bank mules and level together. We had myself, a priest, 2 mages and a hunter – the perfect group! We would quest individually until we all got to a level where we could run the next instance. We ran them all from Deadmines to BRD, he only one we didn’t do was Gnomergan. Apart from the priest, we were all playing classes that were completely new to us. As I was expected (and wanted) to tank I always had some sort of hybrid build. I had no problems holding aggro in instances, however questing was difficult, although not quite so slow as a full protection spec. Having already levelled 2 hunters and a mage to 60 it was a shock not to be able to take on multiple mobs 2 levels higher than I was. The recent patch changed all that. Primrose is now a prot spec warrior who does a respectable amount of damage. I love the survivability it gives and she can kill a mob in less than 5 minutes!
Now, having 5 level 70 characters, my big dilemma is who to level first? Some of this is dictated by professions. I really want to level Hulan first however she is a tailor/alchemist. She depends on Winifred for herbs, as does Ravenwynd who is now a LW/Scribe. I had intended to level Ravenwynd second but again, as regards professions, she is dependent on other characters for raw materials (Winifred for herbs and Elen for skinning). What I’ve done instead is rolled a Death Knight and made her a skinner/herbalist. I’m hoping that I can get her to 70 quickly and then from 70 to 80 more or less in parallel with Hulan. She is another Dwarf and I have decided to call her Nithu.
Although I’m currently on nights I did wake up early and got the starter zone completed. As the expansion went live as I started this run of nights I haven’t had much chance to look around however what little I’ve seen so far has been impressive. Tonight is my last night and from tomorrow afternoon I can do some serious exploring.
