Aaaaaaagh!

There was much tearing of hair and gnashing of teeth this afternoon *sigh*  Last night Dimity dinged 60 so today I decided to get on with the quest chain for her epic mount.  I had the cash I needed (just!) and most of the mats already put by.  The first thing I needed to get was Holy Water from Strat.  A level 70 priest volunteered to help me get it and after a sticky start (bad pull on my part), we aced it.  Next was the spirit horse in Dire Maul West.  By this time the priest had logged off and no-one else in my guild was biting so I got into LFG.  I was in luck; there was a level 60 paladin with a level 70 hunter already in there.  They invited me to join them and I headed for Feralas as fast as I could.  By the time I arrived they had already cleared the way to the big tree mob we needed to kill and 2 minutes later it was dead.  I couldn’t believe my luck!

The final part of the quest chain requires a scholo run.  The whole of Rattlegore’s room needs to be cleared and then a quest item is used to summon waves of mobs and, finally, a boss.  A couple of friends volunteered to help but when I whispered the Paladin I’d done DM with, he already had a group together and just needed a tank.  Perfect!  We made it to the room and cleared it.  I used the quest item and we downed the first wave of mobs; we downed the second wave of mobs.  There was just one stray heading for the warlock.  I ran after it and tried to use my Hammer of Doom on it and…..the server crashed.  Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!  Fortunately at this point my daughter Megan arrived home from school and administered chocolate cake therapy.  Monday is cookery day and she had made the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted in my life!  It was moist and sticky and light and very chocolatey.  As the server was down for the best part of 2 hours I needed 2 pieces.  I am now working the nighshift so my epic mount will have to wait until the weekend.
