I think the Blizzard authenticator is a great idea. I’d love to get one. If I was in the US I could order it from the Blizzard store for $6.50 (which equates to €4.12 / £3.26). However I’m in Europe and according to Blizzard’s EU store, they’ve sold out. Not only that they’ve gone a bit nuts with the price too; here in the EU we get to pay €6 or £6. Maybe it’s a good job I can’t get one, I’d be so mad that someone in their accounting department priced these at “Let’s call it six, uhm, whatever. Dollars, Euros, Pounds sterling. Same difference yes?” I was perusing the EU forums earlier, a player from Eastern Europe claimed that if he pays €6 for his authenticator, Blizzard will charge him €30 to package it and deliver it. Madness! 2 Responses to “How Much?!”Leave a Reply |

Wow! That’s really different from my experience in the States. I purchased my authenticator from the website yesterday morning with ease. It was 6.50 USD for the security token, 0.39 USD for the sales tax, and I had absolutely no shipping/handling fees.
The sad thing is that so few people I’ve spoken to in-game even know that this exists. I’m definitely trying to push it because I really feel it’s a wonderful idea. I know of so many people who have had accounts hacked and the extra layer of security pretty much ensures that that can’t happen again!
