Last night I tanked ST and had a lot of fun. It was only my 3rd time tanking on Dimity but I’m starting to feel more comfortable with it and on the whole, I think I did OK. I rarely lost aggro even though I was level 48 and we had a level 53 hunter and a level 55 mage along. That’s probably due as much to the fact that they didn’t rush in blasting right from the get-go rather then my uber tanking skills! We had no wipes and the only death was me, when I ran round a corner straight into a group of mobs; the healer was still drinking and had no los on me. I will have to go back as I need a decent shield and I have my eye on Crest of Supremacy. I also hadn’t had time to collect many quests in there so I will need to make at least one return trip anyway. My biggest problem was pulling. I dinged 49 just after we finished the run so I only have one more level until I can get Avenger’s Shield. This will make my life a lot easier. I did kick myself though that it didn’t occur to me to pull the undead mobs with Exorcism until we got to Jammal’an the Prophet *blushes* The biggest plus with Paladin tanking, for me, is the lack of pain the day after! I’ve tried tanking before on both the Warrior and the Druid and have found that both require a lot of manoeuvring on my part. Due to the problems I have with my neck, this has left me very stiff and I’ve always paid the next day. For me, the beauty of Paladin tanking is that I can pretty much stay in one place. What I need to work on now is my positioning. Last night, too many times I found myself with mobs hitting me from behind. 3 Responses to “Paladin Tanking”Leave a Reply |

Yay! Congratz.
Grats! I am a resto druid myself and i know i hate tanking, but it probably has something to do with how badly it goes everytime i try. Anyways, i’m glad it went well for you!
Congratz! I really love tankadins for instances especially for their multi-target agro management abilities.
