Ch-ch-changes

As you can see, I’ve bought a new domain name and am now hosting my own blog. So far, so good. I’ve been looking around for hosting and BRK had just posted about his own host so I took the plunge and signed up. One of the clinching factors for me was SSH access, it is very rare these days. I hate trying to get things done through the web panel, I find it much quicker and easier to log in and do things manually. The other reason is the flexibility offered. At the moment I have my own web server and have offered web hosting myself for several years. It all started when I had so many large sites that it made sense to get a reseller account and then later a blogging friend who had a similar setup suggested that we rent our own web server. In the end she bailed out and I was left on my own and these days I don’t devote nearly enough time to running it and it no longer pays for itself. I’m currently in the process of winding it up and now I shall be able to move my others sites to this host.

My WoW life has been very busy recently. Firstly I have a new character (altitis ftw!); she is called Dimity and is a Dwarf Paladin. In hindsight the name was a bad move, it will get probably get shortened to “Dim” however she is now level 28 and progressing nicely so I don’t want to re-create her. I’m enjoying the Paladin class much more than I expected too and much more than my warrior, Primrose, who has languished at level 64 for over a year now. Doing anything on the warrior felt like such hard work whereas on Dimity I take on all comers, hehe. For now I’m leveling her as Retribution but will probably switch to protection at level 40. If I continue to enjoy her I shall probably delete Primrose as I have no desire to play her at all.

The big news on Hulan is that she has joined a new guild. Her old guild has started to change for the worse and shortly after I removed her it fell apart completely. It was very sad to see it go as it was one of the oldest guilds on Moonglade and there were some great people in it who had been there from the start. I was thrilled when my application to Ebon Flame was accepted a few weeks ago. The application process is a bit of an endurance test but well worth it. I am proud and delighted to be a member of such a fine guild. One of the steps is an in-character interview; there was a bit of a hiccup when the person I was supposed to meet couldn’t make it and it has generated another short story which I’ll post soon.  Edited to add: I am a dope, I already posted it!

The final development is that Ravenwynd has her epic flight form! It was a tough run. A friend of mine who also needed it went to the trouble of re-speccing from Resto to Feral (as we had a very good Pala healer) only to get to the instance not only to find that he didn’t have the key but he didn’t have the rep to buy the key *sigh* On the plus side he brought his epic-geared mage instead. A couple of days later I took along my epic-geared mage on his flight-form run so we did both get it in the end.

  1. I said it in the last post and I’ll say it again - great site!

Can I be cheeky though? Pictures make me happy, especially when your posts are surrounded by sidebars with lots and lotsa text ;)

  3. This is only a temporary design Softi, I’m hoping to put together something myself soon. It will be a warcraft theme of course :) It’s been an age since I put together a blog theme so I don’t expect it will be done quickly!
